The evolving socio-cultural environment, as in other fields of life, is reformulating musical culture affecting musical life in societies and musical relationships of individuals from different angles. Therefore, socio-cultural change is continues to be a central issue to be addressed by music educators and researchers.

Prof. Dr. Hayri COÞKUN , the rector of the Abant Ýzzet Baysal University

summarized the theme of the Congress:

" It is a fact that in our lives there are many basic realities and one of them is undoubtedly the socio-cultural change. This change and transformation are seen in different areas especially in art, sport, science and social life stiles. The Fine Arts Education therefore, simply reflect these crucial changes and experiences gained both in our country and the world. Discussing the reflections of the socio-cultural changes in music education with the perspective scientists coming from various countries in the world is truly important to offer solutions. Looking from that perspective, congresses impact on music and music education reflects its vital importance".
