What is RESEO?

Founded in 1996, RESEO is the umbrella organisation for those working in opera and dance education.

RESEO's strength lies in the number and diversity of its members, which currently comprises over seventy opera and dance companies of all sizes from twenty countries in Europe. RESEO acts as a forum for exchange on the practice of opera education at a European level - members can share information, experience and ideas. RESEO is the European platform for the development of opera education and supports the sector through research, lobbying and projects.

How does RESEO operate?

The RESEO network connects those who work in opera education in a number of ways.

Meetings: RESEO organises biannual conferences as well as seminars and other events throughout the year.

Projects: RESEO is more than a ‘talking-shop’ and encourages genuine collaboration between its members. RESEO’s cross-member projects play an important role in spreading good practice and indeed developing the art forms of opera and dance.

Forum: To complement the face-to-face meetings, this website offers the opportunity to meet virtually via the members' webspace.

In print: Members are kept up-to-date with each other's news via a regular newsletter, an online calendar of each other's events and periodic special RESEO research publications.
