Ana Luísa Veloso was born in Porto, in 1979. In April 2012, she completed her PhD in Music (Education) under the guidance of Dr. Sara Carvalho, and Dr. Graça Mota at Aveiro University, with a PhD scholarship from the FCT (Foundation for Science and Technology, from the Ministry of Science Technology and Higher Education).In 2005 she completed her College degree in Music Education, at the College of Education from the Porto Polytechnic Institute. She is presently working on her She also works as a researcher at the Research Center of Music Psychology and Music Education (CIPEM) in the Project “Promoting social inclusion through engagement with music – the project Orquestra Geração”, funded also by FCT. Currently, she teaches at Porto College of Education, in the Music Department. She is also conducting several Seminars at Aveiro University Doctoral students in Music and Education. From September 2004 to December 2007, she taught music education in several public and private primary schools. She has participated several times as a presenter in some of the most important International Conferences in Music Education. She has published several articles in the domain of Music Education, and, more specifically, in the areas of Creativity, Music Composition, Improvisation, Emotions and the Development of Musical Thinking. She actively maintains her activity as a guitar player and musician in several groups of contemporary music, experimental music and sound art.
