Short biography

Prof. Dr. at the Department of Music Education at Abant Izzet Baysal University (AİBÜ), Bolu/Turkey. Kalyoncu, after graduating from the Gazi University, started her academic career as a research assistant at AİBÜ. After finishing here her graduate program, she started her doctoral studies in 1996 at the Ludwig-Maximilians University in Munich by winning a state scholarship. In 2001, she completed her doctorate in the main branch of “Music Pedagogy” and in auxiliary branches of “Musicology” and “Education Sciences” and returned home and undertook her compulsory service stipulated at the AİBÜ. Currently, she has been working at Music Teacher Trainings Bachelor Program as well as Music Education Master & Doctoral Programs as a fulltime Professor, and is head of the Department for “Fine Arts Education”. She has many publications in various subject areas of Music Pedagogy. Kalyoncu is the EAS Turkey National Coordinator since 2006, and organized the 18th International EAS Conference (2010) with her team in Bolu, Turkey. She is EAS Board member since 2011.
