Short biography

 

I graduated from The Estonian Academy of Music as a choral conductor  and music teacher.
I  studied  conducting with the famous Estonian Professor Gustav Ernesaks. 1971-1980 I worked as a music teacher in Westholm Gymnasium in Tallinn.
1980-1985 I teached conducting in Tallinn Pedagogical University.
Since 1986 I am working in the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre (EAMT) as an Ass. Prof. (choir conducting, the Foundations of Music Education and supervising the teaching practice).
1991-1994 - head of the music education department of the EAMT.
Since 1998  - head  of the Continuing Education Centre of the EAMT.
1996-2002 – president of  the Estonian Society for Music Education, since 2003 member of the board.
1995-1999 – deputy president of the Estonian Music Council.
Since 2002 -  the leader of the Estonian Music Olympiad Comission.
Since 2006 the coopted member of the EAS board, since 2009 the member of the board.
I have  been participating as a music education expert in the working group of the National Curriculum of Estonia and  since 2004 the leader of the Estonian  Commission  for Music in Schools.
Ene Kangron is a prize winner of several international choral competitions conducting the Student Choir of the Estonian Academy of  Music and Theatre  and  the  Tallinn Technical University Female Choir. Since 2000 I am a  conductor of the Türnpu  Male Choir.
